Playing Catch Up

My, what a descriptive name for a blog, yet I have not posted one single thing about our recent adventures! I can assure you that my husband and I find it hard to sit down for long. We are always on the go, planning our next trip and we have also been known to get a little panicky if we are not in possession of a set of plane tickets to somewhere in the near future. I created this blog back in October of 2010 so I will recap since the birth of this blog....
October 2010

Upcoming Travels:
May: Back to Disneyland with my family for Mother's Day
June: Key West, Caribbean Cruise on the Oasis of the Seas
July: Hotel Del Coronado for the 4th of July, Seward, Alaska for my brother in law's wedding.
December: Disney World
April: Caribbean Cruise on the Disney Fantasy
July: Maui for the 4th of July

Ya, my washing machine, passport and luggage will be getting a workout! I can't wait!

Fins Up!

Not only are my husband and I avid travelers, we also are HUGE Jimmy Buffett fans. Complete and utter Parrotheads. We are addicted to the Margaritaville tour date website, we own XM radio merely to listen to all the Buffett concerts we are unable to go to and we even pay the state of Arizona motor vehicle department $50 dollars a year to own custom plates with a verse of our favorite song...see the tackiness below...

Yes, I am FIN2RT and naturally, my husband would be....

It's bad...but we have so much fun with it! We have had some fun adventures during our madness. A few years ago we went to our annual Buffett concert in Las Vegas (best concert location ever!) came home the following evening to listen to the remaining few concerts from his Bama Breeze tour, live from Tampa, Florida on XM. When he was exiting, he announced to the crowd that he would be seeing everyone tomorrow night for his last show of this tour. My husband and I looked at one another with the same thought.....Let's go! So, within ten minutes we had 15th row front and center seats purchased, two tickets on Southwest direct to Tampa, hotel and a rental car. The next night we were decked our in grass skirts, parrot and shark hats, hula shirts walking though the gates to see the one and only Jimmy Buffett. We thought life could NOT get any better than this.....but....it did. One gentleman, who we still don't know who, came up to us and said, "Please put these on and follow me." Normally this would not seem like a smart thing, to follow a complete stranger behind a gate into God knows where....but when you've had too many Landsharks as it is, you have a parrot on your head and everyone else seems to be doing far worse and crazier things around you, you follow right along like sheep. Well, behind that gate was backstage and all of the the Coral Reefer Band! Yes, we had just passed the gates of heaven. We were dying. Mac McAnaly and Michael Utley.

So, needless to say, we are smitten Parrotheads. We go to every concert we can, we visit Key West each year to "Head Down to Captain Tony's" visit Faustos for chocolate milk and even sit along Mallory Square at sunset wondering where exactly it was that Jimmy Buffett wrote "Tin Cup Chalice." People call us crazy, but what a fun and crazy life it is. Not many people understand his following but I find myself looking over at my husband at every concert, grass skirt on, shark on his head, fins flying and I think...."The Stories We Could Tell..." and boy, do we have many!

It's About Time....

that I follow the trend and create a blog for myself and document events in my life. I am a self proclaimed "Blog Stalker." I love spending hours on the Internet "borrowing" ideas, recipes, decorating tips and gathering party planning ideas from all the blogs I come across. I can get lost in blogs, constantly clicking on links from one blog to the next, becoming so head over heels with stuff that I find. From tablecloths to parenting advice (I'm not even parent, yet!) I find myself captivated by blogs. My new found obsession can be blamed on my best friend, Serena! We found ourselves browsing the Internet one day, reading through blogs for nearly hours upon hours, trying to find THE perfect baby shower invitation, which lead to coordinating them with the cupcakes, then the centerpieces, and lastly....color matching the candy buffet! But wait...what jars would we want? How would we arrange them? What would we fill them with? Where would we find those cute little scoops? Lo and behold, our blog obsession was born.
My hope is that this blog becomes for me, like a what a passport is to a traveler. Something that can be used to document where I've been and what I have done. Being a compulsive and addicted traveler myself, I find myself pulling out my passport at random times just to reminisce. I look though the pages, read the stamps and recall where I went and what I did. It's nice to have, if nothing more than to serve as a memory of the journeys I have been on. So, I hope this blog will serve the same purpose for me as my passport. Something that will document my journey in life, where ever that may take me, and I will be able to have something to look back on and see just how amazing my life was with the family and friends I am surrounded by.
